Scramble the Seawolves
Vietnam Mekong Delta Seawolves Fundraiser
January's dive club event will give us the opportunity to honor one of our own (and all of the other brave men and women that have served our great country).
Our very own Michael Bowman served in the Navy as a member of the Seawolves. This elite group is being honored in a documentary film entitled "Scramble the Seawolves". We will have a private screening of this amazing film and invite you to join us.
We are asking for a $5 (or more) per person donation to help cover the cost of renting the theater. Any additional money collected will go to support the making of the documentary. This is an important part of our history and the story needs to be told. Michael and Nyma have let us know that the project needs $17000 to stay within budget.
In addition, we would like to "Fill the Fridge" of the Sumner County Veteran's Home. There will be a box for donations of any non-perishable food items that you would like to give. You will also have the opportunity to make a cash donation that Joy and I will use to purchase milk, eggs, butter, etc. to not only fill, but hopefully overflow the fridge. We have invited the residents of the home to join us for the screening and hopefully a few will attend.
Please bring cash for donations and the concession stand. We will not have the ability to swipe your card.
We will be selling raffle tickets for the opportunity to win a DVD of the film and there will be information for anyone wishing to purchase a copy.
Please join us for a night of fun, fellowship and patriotism as we honor the men and women that have fought for our freedom. Freedom is not free and these stories need to be told. Please feel free to invite your friends and family.
If you have a red, white or blue Parrot Island Dive Club shirt, please wear it for a group photo.
